An Inkle Loom can be used to weave straps or bands of fabric. This loom will make a strap between approximately 3 feet and 7 feet long x up to 4" wide. You can make anything from shorter book marks (leave space in-between the book marks) to belts, jump ropes, shoe laces, guitar straps, headbands, bracelets. dog leashes, and coasters. Use with crochet cotton or DK weight cotton yarn while you are learning. After that you can use any yarn.
This special loom is named after David Went, the father of our dear Ruth Airey. Many of you might know Ruth from our Facebook Group. Her father David was a well known Inkle weaver in the UK. He came up with the idea of an extension for the inkle loom that would allow you to make a much longer band. Our Kiss David Went Inkle loom is based on his idea from the late 1990's. We are privileged that Ruth and her mum were willing to let us produce this loom in his memory.
